GETTING BETTER

Maryland Heights-based BSR Services private snow and ice removal company purchased new liquid salt application machinery plus two tanker trucks for faster and more environmentally friendly road treatment.

HELPING OUT

First Community Credit Union employees donated more than $2,000, which was used to fill two SUVs full of diapers, wipes and toys that they delivered to Nurses for Newborns Foundation of St. Louis.

Dierbergs Markets employees delivered more than 10,000 donated cans of food to Operation Backpack, Operation Food Search’s program designed to decrease childhood hunger in the St. Louis area. Dierbergs customers purchased and donated the requested canned foods.

MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS

Fenton-based Alliance Credit Union merged with St. Louis-based 1st City Credit Union. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sapaugh GM Country off Interstate 55 at Herculaneum is celebrating 30 years in business as a General Motors dealership.

4M Building Solutions was awarded a contract to clean Bank of America Plaza, an 800,000-square-foot high-rise office building in downtown St. Louis.

Contegra Construction Co. completed the build-out of 42,000 square feet of specialty packaging space for Advanced Outsource Solutions at Alton Center Business Park in Alton.

Unity Hospice of Greater St. Louis named Kara Smith of Belleville as its 2014 employee of the year for excelling in her roles as education coordinator and licensed practical nurse.
