The Saint Louis Brewery, makers of Schlafly Beer, named Fran Caradonna as chief financial officer and chief administrative officer.
Caradonna was the co-founder in 2000 of another sizable craft brewery in St. Louis, O'Fallon Brewery. Caradonna and her former husband Tony sold O'Fallon Brewery to former Anheuser-Busch executive Jim Gorczyca in 2011 but she continued to work at O'Fallon Brewery as general manager.
“Her acute understanding of the beer business will be an invaluable resource to our team, and we are confident that her guidance will ensure Schlafly Beer’s success for the next 28 years and beyond," Schlafly co-founder and chairman Tom Schlafly said in a statement.
Schlafly Beer, which operates the Tap Room downtown and Schlalfy Bottleworks in Maplewood, is St. Louis' largest craft brewer.
Schlafly Beer continues to search for a CEO following James Pendegraft's resignation in December. In late 2018, Schlafly Beer issued a public apology to another St. Louis brewery, 4 Hands Brewing Co., after the brewery confirmed that a senior Schlafly executive “caused negative and misleading information to be circulated” about 4 Hands in an anonymous newsletter mailed to local bars and restaurants.
