Dorianne Johnson was hired as athletics director at Harris-Stowe State University.
A former student-athlete at the University of Mississippi and college basketball coach, Johnson most recently served as athletics director at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio.
In her new role, Johnson will be responsible for the direction and administration of the athletics department at Harris-Stowe, including overseeing coaches of nine NAIA sports and other athletics personnel. In addition, she will be in charge of recruitment and retention plans for student-athletes and will represent the athletics department in the community.
Johnson earned a master’s degree in human development from Alabama A&M and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from the University of Mississippi.
