MaritzCX laid off 40 employees at its headquarters in Salt Lake City and its offices in Fenton Monday.
Chris Cottle, chief marketing officer for the software and market research company, confirmed the layoffs and said 24 full- and part-time employees were laid off in Fenton and 16 employees were laid off in Salt Lake City, in addition to a few layoffs in other cities. Companywide, MaritzCX has more than 2,000 full- and part-time employees, including 169 in Fenton.
"It's a part of adjustments to meet our approved operating plan," Cottle said about of the layoffs. The affected employees worked in a variety of departments.
Fenton-based sales and marketing services firm Maritz Holdings acquired Allegiance Software in 2014 and created a standalone company, MaritzCX. Maritz Holdings remains the largest investor in MaritzCX.
