The mortgage foreclosure problem continues its slow fade in metro St. Louis. As of October, 1.4 percent of St. Louis area homes with mortgages were in the process of foreclosure, CoreLogic reported. That is down 0.3 of a percentage point from October of last year.
Still, 10,079 homes were lost to foreclosure in the metro area over the past year, or one out of every 43 homes with mortgages.
Nationally, 3.2 percent of homes with mortgages were in foreclosure, down from 3.6 percent last years, according to CoreLogic, a real estate analysis firm.
