The male black-and-white colobus monkey born in December at the St. Louis Zoo finally has a name: Hawthorn.

The zoo made its announcement Thursday, and a spokeswoman said zookeepers chose it because it’s a botanical name, after the tree or shrub, and it goes along with his 1-year-old sister’s name, Willow.

Hawthorn was born Dec. 29. You can see him and his family at the zoo’s primate house. He lives there with his mom, Cecelia, his dad, Kima, Willow, brothers Ziggy and Simon, and half-sister Binti.
