Vivian Gibson talks about her memoir of growing up in the segregated Mill Creek Valley in St. Louis. The neighborhood was razed in 1959 to build a highway and seek development to replace what some considered eyesore housing. But Gibson says that although her home, like many others, had no hot water or furnace, she had a loving family and a tight-knit community.
