The Kranzberg Arts Foundation last month announced plans to open a new literary arts venue called the High Low at 3301 Washington Boulevard in Grand Center. Among the High Low's amenities will be a cafe operated by Blueprint Coffee.
Blueprint co-founder (or member, as the partners call themselves) Mike Marquard tells Off the Menu: “We've been pretty impressed with Kranzberg. Their mission is pretty awesome.”
Marquard says the family of fellow Blueprint member Mazi Razani are advocates of the foundation, which helped bring the coffee shop into the fold for the new project.
Blueprint opened in the Delmar Loop in 2013. A second location debuted last year in Lindenwood Park. Marquard says the High Low location will feature a similar beverage selection as those shops: coffee and espresso drinks, of course, as well as tea and vinegar-based shrubs.
(According to the Kranzberg Arts Foundation's December announcement, the High Low's food program will be operated by Rob Connoley of the soon-to-open Bulrush and the short-lived Grand Center restaurant Squatter's Cafe.)
SPACE Architecture + Design is overseeing the design.
“This project is a beautiful space,” Marquard says.
The Kranzberg Arts Foundation is aiming to open by June, Marquard says, and Blueprint is “along for the ride.”
