Benton Park brunch and lunch restaurant Luvy Duvy's Cafe will close on March 29 after 8 years.
“We decided to do something different,” said Jackie Seal, who owns the restaurant with Cassady Caldwell. “We have had eight great, great years. Change is good.”
Seal and Caldwell plan to remain invested in the neighborhood. They own Luvy Duvy's building at 2321 Arsenal Street and will rent it to its next tenants, Lilly's Music & Social House.
(You can read more about Lilly's via its Kickstarter campaign.)
“We still love the neighborhood, we still love the city,” Seal said.
Luvy Duvy's fans will not have to say goodbye to the restaurant entirely after March, however. Seal said she and Caldwell are consulting with the restaurant Howards in Soulard, which is slated to open this spring and will include Luvy Duvy's brunch and lunch fare on its menu.
