Welcome to the Lunch Bag, Post-Dispatch restaurant critic Ian Froeb's new, daily(ish) roundup of news and notes from the St. Louis dining scene.

Randolfi's, the new Italian restaurant from chef Mike Randolph, will open on Tuesday (Aug. 25) at 6665 Delmar Boulevard in University City.

Randolfi's replaces Randolph's Neapolitan pizzeria the Good Pie, which closed at the end of June. It's Randolph's second new Delmar Loop restaurant this year, following Público, which I awarded 3½ stars.

In addition to the Good Pie's signature Neapolitan pizzas, Randolfi's will feature antipasti, housemade pasta, porchetta, roasted steak and more.

The restaurant's regular hours will be 5-10 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. The phone number is 314-899-9221.

Stefano's Restaurant at 504 North 10th Street downtown has closed after a five-year run.

The restaurant's phone number has been disconnected. A post on its Facebook page on Aug. 10 bids farewell:

"After 5 wonderful years, our lease has expired. We have chosen not to renew so we can focus on family and new ventures.

Thank you so much for your loyal patronage, we couldn't have done it without YOU!"
