An all-purpose rub for any meat - Prep School with Dan Neman of the Post-Dispatch.

1½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 bay leaf, finely chopped

Mix together thoroughly and use on any meat. Store in a tightly covered container in a dark pace. Change the proportions in any way you like, but use more salt than any of the other ingredients.
