St. Louis gospel singer Amber Bullock was named "Sunday Best" in BET's televised gospel music competition, besting opponent Andrea Helms.
Host Kirk Franklin made the announcement at the end of Sunday night's two-hour results show, and it didn't exactly come as a big surprise.
Bullock wins a new Ford Explorer, a recording contract and the "Sunday Best" title.
Family members were spotted in the audience during the broadcast, which was previously recorded. Among those in the audience were her parents and her daughter.
The broadcast featured performances from the two finalists, as well as footage of Bullock in front of her grandmother's house in St. Louis, singing at her church Fresh Anointing Prosperity Ministry, and driving while talking up the new Ford Explorer in an obvious commercial.
Also during the episode, Bullock was mentored by gospel legend Shirley Caesar, who performed on the show. Yolanda Adams, Rance Allen and Lacrae also performed, as did past "Sunday Best" winners.
A special tribute to late gospel legend Mahalia Jackson was featured.
Mary Mary and Donnie McClurkin served as judges on the show.
Bullock's win tonight allows the singer to finally let up a sigh of relief.
