Rock star Jack White is making a "six-figure" donation to the National Blues Museum set to open later this year downtown, the museum announced Tuesday night.

White, the Grammy-winning rocker and front man for the White Stripes, will fund the “Mix It Up” creative Blues experience within the museum, which is planned for the Mercantile Exchange District in the 600 block of Washington Avenue

The Mix It Up exhibit will be designed to let visitors edit musical selections and create new compositions.

The announcement about White's gift didn't specify the amount beyond "a six-figure contribution."
