The original location of Spiro's Restaurant at 8406 Natural Bridge Road in Bel-Nor closed last week, ending a 40-year run that spawned sibling Greek restaurants in the city's Lindenwood Park neighborhood, Chesterfield and St. Charles.
Owner Spiro Karagiannis confirmed the closure to the Post-Dispatch on Tuesday. He said his decision to retire prompted the closure.
The other Spiro's locations remain open, as do the other restaurants within the extended Karagiannis family, the Tenderloin Room in the Central West End and Surf and Sirloin in Des Peres.
