Ellie Kemper touches all the St. Louis bases (except for a mention of toasted ravioli) in the announcement that she'll host the Mid-America Emmy Awards on Oct. 9. Kemper is a 1998 graduate of John Burroughs and was attending Princeton University when she became 1999 Veiled Prophet queen.
"I am so honored to be hosting the 2010 Mid-America Emmy Awards in my hometown of St. Louis," Kemper said. "Conway School, Ladue Junior High and Burroughs provided me with invaluable opportunities to perform and to write. And Ted Drewes provided me with really good frozen custard. I am very lucky to have grown up here."
