TCA press tour: Dan's not dead in 'Roseanne' revival

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. • ABC's revival of "Roseanne," which begins taping in October with a live studio audience, won't completely ignore the events of the previous series finale, which revealed that Dan Connor (John Goodman) had died.

But never fear. Dan will be very much alive in the revival, for which most major cast members, including Goodman, have signed to return.

Negotiations even continue with Johnny Galecki, who played David on the comedy from 1992-97. Galecki stars on CBS' "The Big Bang Theory." He is also an executive producer on a midseason CBS comedy.

Because of those commitments, it's unclear how much time Galecki would have for the new "Roseanne," or whether conflicts might arise. But ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey told TV critics Sunday that talks with Galecki were ongoing and suggested that she is hopeful.
