The 77th annual Golden Globes are Sunday nigth at 7 p.m. on NBC. The first awards presentation for achievements in the film industry by the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association, which was the precursor of today's Hollywood Foreign Press Association, took place in 1944 at an informal ceremony at 20th Century Fox. Since then, actors, directors and other Hollywood luminaries have donned designer duds and walked the red carpet for the show that kicks off the glamorous awards season ceremonies. By the way, the 2008 Golden Globe Awards ceremony was canceled due to the Writers Guild of America strike that began the previous fall, so no red carpet photos that year.
