Thurtene Carnival is a highlight of spring
The nonprofit group Ready Readers will benefit this year from proceeds of Washington University’s student-run Thurtene Carnival. The carnival opened Friday and runs through Sunday. Thurtene is considered one of the nation’s oldest and biggest student-run carnivals. As its community partner, Ready Readers should get a boost for its programs, which place volunteer readers in preschools in low-income communities, helping foster in children a love of reading.
