DeRay Mckesson, one of the highest-profile figures in the Ferguson protests, also is one of the newest STLers.

P-D photographer David Carson reported March 4 on Twitter that Mckesson said he quit his job in Minneapolis and "brought down all his stuff in a U-Haul."

That would make Mckesson (@deray on Twitter) the third person with STL connection to be named to the L.A. Times' list of "The New Civil Rights Leaders."

Also listed are St. Louis Alderman Antonio French and protester Johnetta Elzie, aka on Twitter as "ShordeeDooWhop."
