A Washington University professor — cranking the "Star Wars" nerd factor to 11 — has calculated how much it would cost in real dollars to build two Death Stars.

Feinstein's study — entitled "It’s a Trap: Emperor Palpatine’s Poison Pill" — is adding to the buzz for the Dec. 18 release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

In the introduction, Feinstein explains that his study covers "... the financial repercussions of the destruction of two fully armed and operational moon-sized battle stations (“Death Stars”) in a 4-year period and the dissolution of the galactic government in Star Wars."

This is not the first time that "Star Wars" fans have debated this issue:

In 2012, Lehigh students calculated the material costs for building a Death Star.

And of course, Randal and Dante hold a spirited discussion of Death Star economics in the classic 1994 Kevin Smith movie, "Clerks."

18. At the beginning of "Revenge of the Sith," what secret is Anakin Skywalker keeping from Obi-Wan, Yoda, and the Jedi Council?
Wrong.Right. Anakin's love for Padme is ultimately his undoing. Some fans would argue the romantic scenes in the prequels were George Lucas' undoing.
19. True or false: After turning Anakin Skywalker to the dark side in "Revenge of the Sith," Emperor Palpatine tells his clone commanders to execute "Order 666"?
