Find local Foursquare deals with Poorsquare

Looking for freebies while you're out? Try Poorsquare, now available in St. Louis.

When users "check in" to a venue on Foursquare, a location app, they are notified of specials and tips. Poorsquare collects the deals and creates a freebie search engine.

Select St. Louis, and get a list of current specials, many of which require a Foursquare check-in to claim. That list now includes deals at Mangia Italiano, Cafe Ventana, Modesto, HandleBar, Bissinger's, FroYo: Central West End, and Rally's.

Poorsquare was created by Jeff Novich and Andrew Pinzler at a New York hackathon sponsored by American Express. The app, which started in New York, now is available in 85 U.S. cities and London. Poorsquare's creators say they are working on their own mobile app.

For local tips and reviews, follow Go! magazine on Foursquare.
