CHOCOLATE-CHIP PIE

Yield: 8 servings

Pastry for single-crust pie

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted and cooled

3 eggs

1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a 9- or 10-inch deep-dish pie plate with pastry; crimp edges.

In bowl of electric mixer, combine flour and sugars; mix well. Add cooled butter, and start beating at medium speed. Add eggs; beat until mixture is light and well combined, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in nuts and chips by hand.

Pour filling into pie shell. Bake until crust is baked and top is golden, about 50 to 55 minutes. Let cool completely before slicing.
