Mama's Slow-Cooker Beer Chili

Yield: 4 to 6 servings

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 large sweet onion, diced

4 cloves garlic, crushed

1 1/2 to 2 pounds ground turkey

1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes

1 cup beer (dark preferred)

3 tablespoons chili powder

1 teaspoon curry powder

3 tablespoons hot sauce

1/3 cup honey

1 (10-ounce) package frozen corn

1 (15-ounce) can pink or kidney beans

1/3 cup diced mild green chiles

3 beef bouillon cubes

2 tablespoons flour

1. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-low heat. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add garlic and cook 2 minutes. Add turkey and cook until no pink remains. Drain. Add tomatoes, beer, chili powder, curry powder, hot sauce, honey, corn, beans, chiles, bouillon cubes and flour, stirring until mixed.

2. Transfer mixture to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours.
