On Tuesday, July 14, gunman opened fire on a uniformed St. Louis police sergeant in The Central West End.  Police Chief Sam Dotson said the officer sustained a torso injury not considered life-threatening during the hail of gunfire on his private vehicle. The incident sparked a long week of events that included searching for the shooter, protests, a pro-police rally, clean up and ended with Lesley Harris walking with her son Aaron Collins to police headquarters where he surrendered as one of four persons connected to the shooting.
