STAUNTON, Ill. • Firefighters from at least 10 departments in Macoupin and Madison counties responded to a fire at Country Classic Cars late Tuesday.
Officials could not immediately say how the fire started, but owner Russ Noel estimates about 150 classic cars likely worth millions were damaged.
Crews had the fire under control around 11 p.m., and there were no injuries.
The Illinois State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
The business, located off Interstate 55 about 40 miles northeast of St. Louis, is known locally for its impressive display of more than 650 classic cars and trucks. It's officially at at 2149 East Frontage Road, but sits along an old section of Route 66.

Photos and videos of the blaze started to appear on social media around 8:30 p.m. with many lamenting the vehicles lost as the business went up in flames.
