LEFT COAST BOUND: Sarah Fenske, who has been managing editor of The Riverfront Times for slightly more than a year, has been named editor of the Times' sister publication, LA Weekly.
Fenske, 34, will take over the new job on Monday. She is replacing Drex Heikes.
Fenske, a native of Cleveland, has been with Village Voice Media for 10 years. Before coming to St. Louis, she was a columnist for 5 1/2 years at the Phoenix New Times.
While there she distinguished herself with a 2010 series about corruption at the Maricopa County housing authority. She was awarded a Livingston Award for young journalists for the series, which was also a finalist for an IRE award.
So, the bad news is that Fenske is leaving. The good news is that Chad Garrison, a seven-year veteran of the RFT will replace her.

"We'll miss Sarah," Garrison wrote in an email. "She leaves big shoes to fill. Or in Sarah's case, fashionable boots, heels and sandals."
Garrison, a Kirkwood product, joined the weekly in 2004 as a staff writer. In 2008 he became the RFT's first, full-time blogger at dailyrft.com. He's a Kirkwood high grad, class of '91.
