'Food & Wine' heaps praise on St. Louis restaurant scene

Seems as if our taste, and flavor, has grabbed national attention.

St. Louis has earned a place at Food & Wine's table for "32 Best Places to Go (And Eat) in 2019."

Our fair burg was one of five cities mentioned by the publication's editors, under the sub-heading of "Places That Felt Like The Future."

"St. Louis never gets enough credit for the things that it does well, and one of those things is food, from the nearly-ancient Italian culture on The Hill to so much here-and-now excitement," the article states.

The piece goes on to praise our offerings of Bosnian cooking and pho, and also specifically calls out Michael Gallina and Vicia; Logan Ely and Savage; and Gerard Craft’s new Cinder House at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Finally, the article singles out chef Rob Connoley as "one of the city's brightest sparks" and notes that his Bulrush restaurant is slated to open in 2019 in Grand Center.
