The wood-working wizardry of Hermann native Charles Radtke is the feature of a display now open at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

The show, entitled "Charles Radtke: Contained," is the first retrospective exhibition of the artist's work. It opened April 19 and runs through Aug. 25.

Praising Radtke's "meticulous attention to detail," the show's teaser notes: "Radtke’s explorations into the function of the cabinet as a container lend his work a conceptual component that relates to contemporary sculpture."

Radtke, 55, was born and reared in Hermann and now lives in Cedarburg, Wis.
