STL #1 celeb Jon Hamm plans to be back home this weekend to pick up an honor: Outstanding Alumnus of John Burroughs High School.

The presentation at 7 p.m. Saturday is part of a reception marking completion of a two-year campus revamp. Hamm (Class of '89) was the co-chair of the fundraising efforts that paid for, among other things, renovating Haertter Hall, the theater where Hamm made his first acting appearances.

School spokesperson Ellen Bremner said Hamm — star of "Mad Men" and the new movie "Million Dollar Arm" — is planning to attend, along with members of his family and about 1,200 people who have RSVPed. "I imagine many of them want to see Jon Hamm," she said.

Bremner noted that one of Hamm's favorite teachers, retiring drama instructor Wayne Salomon, also will be recognized at the reception. A distinguished service award will be presented to Todd Schnuck (Class of ’77).
