ST. CHARLES • A man is facing a charge of sexual misconduct after police say he exposed himself Tuesday at the Wapelhorst Park pool.
Authorities said Gerard Louis Sudheimer, 53, of the first block of Lois Drive in St. Charles County, was in custody with bond set at $15,000 on the misdemeanor charge.
Police said the man pulled down his swimsuit, exposing his buttocks and genitals about 1 p.m. at the park's public pool in the 1900 block of Muegge Road.
Several other customers, including children and seniors, were using the pool at the time.
St. Charles Lt. Mike Akers said Wapelhorst Park staff ordered the man to leave the pool a few weeks ago for similar conduct, but he was not arrested then.

The man may suffer from mental illness, Akers said. After his arrest Tuesday, he was taken to a hospital for evaluation and ruled fit for confinement.
