ST. LOUIS  • A St. Louis man on probation was charged Sunday with murdering a man in the city's Baden neighborhood a day earlier.

Daniel T. Williams, 35, of the 7900 block of Church Road, was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action. He was not in custody but was ordered held without bail when arrested.

Police say Williams approached Chazz Bridges and three others about 4:50 p.m. Saturday while they were "completing a video" and shot Bridges in the head, killing him. Charges say the video obtained from one of the witnesses shows Williams carrying a pistol; Williams then argued with Bridges, pointed a semiautomatic pistol at him and shot him once in the head.

Bridges, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not described what type of video the group was making bfore the shooting.

Charges say Williams fired several shots at two of the other men as they ran from the scene.

Williams has convictions in St. Louis of unlawful use of a weapon, drug possession, court records say. He was released from federal prison on probation in October 2016 for convictions of conspiracy to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine and gun possession.

Bridges lived in the 1200 block of Gimblin Street, about a half mile from where he was shot, police say.
