ST. LOUIS • A giant dead hog tied up traffic Monday night on Interstate 64 near Forest Park.

It's unclear how the animal ended up dead in the eastbound lanes.

Officers closed down the eastbound onramp to I-64 from Clayton Road.

Neighbors gathered west of Turtle Park on Oakland Avenue to watch the spectacle.

About a dozen police officers and firefighters responded to the scene.

Workers with the Missouri Department of Transportation tied up the hog and dragged it away before reopening all lanes to traffic just before 10 p.m.
