Police identify man found dead in alley in Kingsway East neighborhood

Charges say police reviewed surveillance video that showed a jail guard open an inmate's cell, allowing two inmates to attack another.

The suspect's vehicle was described as a small, dark gray SUV. Police said it was a possible road rage shooting.

Police found the man Wednesday in the 100 block of North Broadway, but it wasn't clear if he jumped or fell. 

Lacey K. Newton, Cordell S. Williams and their 4-month-old son were in a car that was rear-ended Tuesday night on Highway 30.

Police dashcam video shows the shooting of 23-year-old Terry Tillman on Aug. 31, 2019, near the Galleria shopping center. 

There have been at least five shootings along that stretch of highway in recent months and police say they appear to be unrelated.

Tyson Paul Heise, 34, was charged with first-degree assault on a special victim and armed criminal action in the attack. 

Torian Wilson, 17, of St. Louis, also was charged with armed criminal action in the fatal shooting Thursday of Elijah Newman, 45, of St. Peters. 

Also, in a rare sign of agreement, the council unanimously opposed any more money for the Loop Trolley.

Silas Smith, 29, died at a hospital after being thrown from a vehicle in the crash Monday morning near North Broadway and East Taylor Avenue.
