UPDATES with name and age of victim

RIVERVIEW — A 14-year-old St. Louis boy was shot and killed inside an apartment where a group of teenagers had gathered, police said Sunday.

Police were called to the apartment in the 10000 block of Toelle Lane before 11 a.m. Saturday for a welfare check. they found the victim, Ien Coleman, with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The child lived in the 2100 block of Chippewa St. in St. Louis, said Sgt. Benjamin Granda of the St. Louis County Police Department.

A juvenile boy has been identified as a person of interest, but he has not been taken into custody.

The victim and the second juvenile knew each other, police said.

Ien is the second child to be killed by gunfire over the weekend in the St. Louis area. On Friday night, 10-year-old Eddie Hill IV was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in St. Louis.
