ST. LOUIS — A man was found dead early Monday in the Dutchtown neighborhood of south St. Louis, police said.
Police said the unidentified victim was found at 12:48 a.m. Monday in the 4600 block of Alaska Avenue. It appears he had been shot, police said.
Homicide detectives are investigating. Police released no additional information.
That block of Alaska is between Virginia Avenue and South Grand Boulevard. Crime in Dutchtown is up 5% from the same six-month period last year.
St. Louis has had 172 homicides so far this year, compared to 163 during the same time last year.
