Pedestrian struck in north St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY   •   A pedestrian was struck by a car at about 7 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Bellefontaine Road and Claudine Drive in north St. Louis County, police say.

St. Louis County Police Officer Randy Vaughn said the pedestrian was a woman who was struck near Twillman Elementary School. A medical helicopter took the woman to a hospital for treatment.

The woman, identified as Joy Jameson, 37, of St. Charles, was listed in critical condition at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

The woman had parked her car on the side of the road and apparently walked into the road, where she was hit.
