St. Louis police need help identifying an armed bandit who robbed the McDonald's restaurant at 1919 South Jefferson Avenue on Thursday.

The culprit entered the McDonald's restaurant about 1:30 p.m. armed with a rifle and jumped over the counter. He then demanded the register drawer. After being told there was no register, the robber confronted the supervisor in his office, where the robber removed money from the safe. The robber then fled the restaurant and was last seen walking westbound through the parking lot, according to police.

The robber was described as a black man between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 9, weighing between 150 and 180 pounds and wearing a green hoodie, light-colored blue jeans and a multi-colored scarf covering his face. He was armed with a black rifle or carbine.

Authorities asked anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.
