ST. LOUIS • Ehrick Stefan Preis, 26, of St. Charles, was sentenced Friday to 37 months in federal prison on charges involving drugs and pipe bombs.

Preis was arrested after selling 858 units of an LSD analogue on six occasions between December 2012 and March 2013 to undercover officers in exchange for $6,000. Officials later found two pipe bombs that Preis said he had made out of firework “guts.”

Preis pleaded guilty in front of U.S. District Judge Carol E. Jackson in August to one felony count of distribution of a controlled substance and one felony count of possession of an unregistered destructive device.

He faced 37 to 46 months in prison under federal sentencing guidelines.
