ST. LOUIS   •   A St. Louis mother was charged today with stabbing her two children with a knife.

Police say Nola R. Miller stabbed her two children several times Sunday after an argument with the children's father.

After the father left the apartment, officers were called Sunday morning to Miller's apartment in the 1200 block of Warren Street where they found Miller had barricaded herself inside, police said. Miller then stabbed her daughter, 10, and son, 3, as the children tried to flee, police say.

The children were taken to St. Louis Children's Hospital with multiple cuts but are expected to survive.

Miller also suffered what police believe are self-inflicted stab wounds. Police seized the knife.

Miller, 30, is charged with first-degree assault, child abuse, child endangerment and armed criminal action.

Bail for Miller was set at $100,000 cash. She was not in custody Monday because she was being treated at a hospital for her injuries.
