WENTZVILLE • Two motorcyclists were killed this morning on Highway A in Wentzville after a collision with a school bus, authorities say. No students were on the bus at the time.
Police identified the motorcyclists as Matthew A. Adam, 43, of Bowling Green, who was driving a 2011 Kawasaki Ninja, and Jacob D. Boedeker, 22, of Warrenton, who was riding a 2005 Honda CBR 600.
The crash happened at 6:40 a.m. on southbound Highway A at Westgate Business Court.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Adam and Boedeker, along with a third motorcyclist, Adam G. Meyer, 25, of Warrenton, were traveling together southbound on Highway A. Meyer was riding a 2005 Yamaha R1. The three were acquaintances, police said.
A Wentzville School District bus driven by Pamela S. Love, 52, of Wright City, was leaving the district's transportation facility, and as she turned left onto Highway A, the crash happened, police said.
Adam and Boedeker collided with the driver's side of the bus, and Meyer struck the crash debris, sending his bike to the ground, ejecting him. He was uninjured.
Love, who has been a driver for Wentzville for eight years, was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, police said.
The investigation into the crash is continuing. According to police, there is no traffic signal at the intersection.
The bus had been on its earliest route to pick up students for the middle and high schools.
