A St. Louis woman was killed in a two-car accident on Interstate 270 early Sunday.
Delphine D. Stegall, 43, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu on eastbound I-270 at Highway 367 when the car got a flat tire. As she tried to pull over on the right shoulder, a Kia Sorento hit the back of the Malibu.
Stegall, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the Malibu and died. Stegall lived in St. Louis, troopers said.
The Kia, driven by driven by Carrie B. Govreau, 39, spun around in the driving lanes and was hit head-on by a Pontiac Grand Prix. That car spun and hit the right side of a Cadillac SRX.
Govreau, of Festus, who was wearing a seat belt, was seriously injured and taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital, troopers said.
The driver of the Pontiac, Hunter Wair, 21, of St. Louis, and a passenger were moderately injured and also taken to Barnes-Jewish. Both had been wearing seat belts.
The driver of the Cadillac SRX is unknown, troopers said.
The accidents happened about 1 a.m.
