Police identify woman shot to death in Central West End


UPDATED at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with name of woman

ST. LOUIS • Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman Monday night in the Central West End neighborhood. 

Police on Wednesday identified the victim as Monica Shaw, 54, of the 4100 block of Enright Avenue.

Shaw was shot in the 400 block of North Sarah Street, near Olive Street, shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, police say. The area is near the northeast boundary of the city's Central West End neighborhood.

Police found Shaw on the ground, unconscious and not breathing; she was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police have no suspects in her death.

Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting. Authorities asked anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-8477. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
