An Indiana woman who was fatally shot here early Monday morning has been identified.
Shaquayla Garvin, 22, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., was found fatally injured in a vehicle in the Baden neighborhood after others in the flagged down a passing St. Louis police officer.
Garvin, one of three women in the car, had been shot in the torso, police say. Garvin was taken to a hospital, where she died, police say. The other two women, both 21, were not hurt.
The St. Louis officer was waved down about 12:40 a.m. in the 8300 block of North Broadway by the victims, who said someone had fired at them as they drove. Police determined she was likely shot a few miles away in the 2000 block of Wilbert Drive in St. Louis County.
