Former Navy Seal Eric Greitens

Former Navy Seal Eric Greitens, a candidate for the Republican nomination for Missouri governor, answers questions during a forum for candidates at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts, on the campus of Lindenwood University in St. Charles on Sunday, April 24, 2016. Candidates answered questions submitted by voters. Photo by Sid Hastings

Title: "Taking Aim"

Content: Greitens is standing in field, wearing a dark t-shirt and shouldering a military-style AR-15 carbine. "I'm Eric Greitens," he says into the camera, as the words, "Eric Greitens; Conservative. Navy SEAL" are superimposed next to him.

Greitens says: "For too long, Missouri has been run by career politicians, owned by corrupt consultants, high-paid lobbyists and special interests. ... Well, I'm no career politician. I'm a Navy SEAL."

He dons safety glasses, and continues: "And I'll take dead aim at politics as usual."

Greitens loads a magazine into the rifle, shown in close-up. He kneels and fires a series of shots into the distance. The next image, seen from over his shoulder, is a fiery explosion in the distance.

It cuts back to Greitens. "I'm Eric Greitens," he concludes, smiling. "If you're ready for a conservative outsider, I'm ready to fire away."

Notable: The ad went up on TV and cable channels statewide this week.
