Steve Bannon, the former chief strategist to President Donald Trump, will be in St. Louis Sunday for a rally sponsored in the name of the late conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly.
The "Put America First Rally" is being hosted by the group "Phyllis Schlafly's Eagles," which is a spinoff organization from Schlafly's Alton, Ill.-based "Eagle Forum."
Bannon, a controversial figure in the Trump Administration, recently left the White House and returned to his previous post as head of Breitbart News. He is expected to appear at the rally, which begins at 3 p.m., and at a meeting of the organization earlier in the day, according the group's website.
The weekend event is being conducted at the St. Louis Airport Marriott.
"Phyllis Schlafly's Eagles" is an organization run by long-time Missouri politico Ed Martin. He formerly headed Eagle Forum and has been at the center of a rift among Schlafly's adult children and others following her death last year.
