Man dies in car crash near Troy, Illinois

TROY, IL. • A man was killed and two people were injured Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash near Troy, Ill., according to the Madison County coroner’s office.

John F. Isenberg, 47, of O’Fallon, Ill., was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred about 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Troy-O’Fallon Road and Mill Creek Road, officials said. He appeared to have died from blunt chest trauma after being ejected from his overturned vehicle, authorities said.

Isenberg was driving a Ford Explorer sports utility vehicle northbound on Troy-O’Fallon Road when it was struck in the driver’s side by a Saab going east on Mill Creek Road, officials said.

The driver of the Saab, Madison N. Bueker, 16, of St. Jacob, Ill., was hospitalized. A passenger in Isenberg’s vehicle, Renee M. Donato, 45, also was hospitalized. The condition of Bueker and Donato were unknown.
