GILLESPIE • A Benld man was killed late Saturday in a motorcycle crash here, the Illinois State Police said.
Cory Broderick, 28, was traveling south on a motorcycle on Illinois Route 4 near Clark Street in Gillespie at 10:52 p.m. Saturday when he passed a vehicle and attempted to return to his lane. He hit another vehicle in his lane that was traveling at a slower rate of speed, according to the State Police.
Broderick was pronounced dead at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton. He died of head and chest trauma.
