A 21-year-old Fenton woman died Thursday afternoon at Barnes-Jewish Hospital after she was injured in a Sept. 9 scooter crash.
Meg Herndon suffered a severe brain injury when the scooter she was riding was hit by a truck in Cape Girardeau. Herndon was a senior at Southeast Missouri State University.
The driver of the truck, Steven Minner of Morley, Mo., has since been cited for failure to yield and for not wearing a seat belt.
Herndon's death was announced by the university Thursday afternoon and on a website that Herndon's family was posting on.
Herndon was a player on the university's soccer team who was studying nursing. Herndon's mother, Cindi, said her daughter's rare B-negative blood is being donated as well as her liver and kidneys.
Thursday afternoon the university also announced this weekend's soccer games will be canceled.
