ST. LOUIS • Authorities are searching for two suspects in the robbery of a PNC Bank and assault of a bank employee.

The bank is at 4131 South Grand Boulevard.

Police say that the two suspects, believed to have been armed, entered the bank about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. One jumped on the counter and punched a bank employee in the side of the head. The employee was treated at the scene.

The robbers fled after taking an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say the stolen bills may be identifiable from possible dye stains on the bills.

CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to a felony arrest. Tips must be submitted to CrimeStoppers for the reward by calling 866-371-8477.

One of the men is about 6 feet 2 and 250 pounds. At the time of the robbery Tuesday, he was wearing a flannel shirt over a dark hoodie. The hood partially covered a red knit cap with the words "St. Louis" on the front. He was also wearing jeans and tennis shoes.

The other suspect was slender and could be up to 6 feet 5. He was wearing a burgundy sweater vest over a white top, and jeans and had draped some type of blue clothing over his head.
