ST. CHARLES • The long-delayed Streets of St. Charles project has firmed up leases with several tenants - including a restaurant and two offices.

The developer, Cullinan Properties, announced this week that Five Guys Burgers and Fries - a Virginia-based chain - will put a new location at the site.

In addition, Cullinan said Wamhoff Financial Planning and Accounting Services and the Brown Smith Wallace accounting firm will move to the development from their current St. Charles locations.

Another recently-announced tenant is MassageLuxe, a day spa.

Construction is underway on the first in a series of mixed-use buildings at the site at Interstate 70 and South Fifth Street.

That three-story building with about 100,000 square feet is expected to be ready next spring, with the first retail opening in June and others to follow in the summer.

The building's ground floor will include stores and restaurants, topped by offices on the top levels.

Brian Buralli, Cullinan's marketing manager, said leases are in process for 70 percent of the first building.

Other buildings planned later for the site, which used to house the old Noah's Ark restaurant and motel, will include rental apartments and commercial space.  The project was first proposed in 2006 but stalled amid the recession.
